Tonight P and I grabbed some dinner. She's gotten into such great shape over the last 2 years. I'm envious, and seeing her results totally motivates me. While we were at dinner, there was a couple sitting at the table next to us. I couldn't place why the guy looked so familiar to me. I thought maybe I recognised him from a store he worked at or something. Then I realised I had gone out with him on a date. I don't remember his name, but I do remember he was a sweetheart, but there was no chemistry between us, and that I had originally thought he was too young for me.
*yawn*
Here's the latest trip update:
Day 11: Bath
We took the bus to Bath today. This time I took only my spare backpack. I'm surprised it was quite full. My toiletries took up the most space. I wore my new cords in Bath, and I soon found out they were too big. I don't have wide hips, so often my bottoms slide down over time. I had to keep pulling up my pants all day long. They're comfy pants, though. I just wish they could stay up.
It was a fairly long bus ride. We stopped at a couple of places. I can't remember if I slept most of the way or not. Anyway, as soon as we got there, we ate. I had my first Cornish pasty. I wonder if I took a photo of it. Anyway, I didn't care for it that much. The beef was overdone!! And the things was piping hot. So a Cornish pasty is this crescent shapped thing with a thick edge around the round part. It's traditionally filled with meat and potatoes with this pastry kind of crust on the outside. The thick crust was meant to be used as kind of a handle and was thrown away. Pasties were made for miners back in the day, and they had dirty hands.
T and I took a tour of the Roman baths, which were pretty cool. The history was interesting, but I didn't feel there was that much to see. Then we hopped on one of the open top buses for a tour around the city. I couldn't really hear the guide, but I tried to take some photos. Here's one.
Afterwards, T and I were ready for dinner. We passed by this Italian place, but it wasn't open yet, so we went and bought some groceries. By the time we were done, the restaurant was open. I can't remember what I bought that day, but I had a few bags of stuff.
We had dinner at Martini Restaurant, and we went all out. I think our dinner came out to like £40 each. I started off with some focaccia bread, had a side of sauteed spinach, had risotto as my main (this was the only time on my trip where I did not finish my dinner!), and I had souffle for dessert.
The evening was less busy and I could snap some unpolluted photos  There were some buskers doing these Cirque du Soleil type acrobatics that night, and there was a bit of music going on, too.
After dinner, we took a cab to our Bed and Breakfast. Our cab driver was so nice, too! He made sure we were at the right place and made sure we were safely inside before leaving. The B&B was really nice; it was an actual house. I got the king-sized bed. T was totally beat that night. She crashed right after her shower. I watched some TV and then went to sleep. It was hard to get privacy in our bathroom. The door had frosted glass. And I know T was totally beat because she was snoring that night
