I'm not talking about the subject you'd take in school...

I'm talking about the je ne sais quoi that you feel with someone. I was trying to figure out if I felt any last night. Perhaps it's too much thinking, but I was so intently focusing on the conversation that there were only a few moments where I'd kind of stop and ask myself, "would I do him?"

I couldn't really see myself with him naked. Maybe it was the suit and that he was all semi-formal looking. Then later on, I also asked myself, "is he too old for me?" He's just a few years older, but it seems like he's accomplished so much more than I have.

But thinking back to other guys I've dated, totally hot chemistry is rare. But I've run out of time to mull about this more. Time to go to physio. My lower back is so tight right now that I want to barf!

Being someone who has *quite* a bit of experience in dating... I'm going to offer some of my own personal experiences.

1) "Ned" - met him and first impressions - GREAT conversation, intelligent, seemed to have his act together, etc. I didn't feel any chemistry. He seemed a little shy and didn't even try to give me a peck. Second date - O.M.G. You could have lit a city for a week with the zing between us.
2) "Donald" - Again, amazing guy. Incredibly sexy voice. Cute, nice dresser, intelligent, funny... He's always really liked me and wanted to pursue things. Me - I feel nothing despite repeated attempts. I don't want to lead him on.
3) X - upon first meeting, I had to fight all compulsion to attack the guy. Fortunately, I restrained myself and he proved to be a nutcase.

So, the lesson is, sometimes, chemistry can be immediate, sometimes it takes time to develop, and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, it ain't gonna happen.

Ah, wait the hell? Why not give it a chance. Stop the over analyzing and enjoy the company. Who knows where it will lead? And if it doesn't go anywhere - at least you've had great food with great company and wonderful conversation.

I just don't want to get my hopes up, especially for someone who will be moving home to Australia in several months! But we'll see ;-)
