Otherwise the luscious ass look could get a bit cramped depending on how long you have to wear them, lol. posted by: mblog (reply) post date: 11.14.05 (9:22 am) I'd say the rear, but that's just one man's opinion. Back in the 1960's, there were jeans made with low cut waists. They had a problem, though, because they cut across the rear end in an unnatural place. Eventually, they went out of style, when people realized that a higher waist makes the waist look thinner (since the waistline is thinner higher up) and it makes the rear end look more shapely since it's showing all the curves instead of having it top off at its widest part. So jeans kept getting better and better looking. Then, for some strange reason, the low waist of the 1960s made a comeback. Nobody could figure out how to make it work without ruining the rear end, and nobody quite figured out what to do with the pockets either. Strangely enough, many women now believe that jeans with a higher waist are somehow more conservative or even prudish. The reality is that they are more sexy. If you've ever wondered why some guys wear baggy pants that are falling off them, even though the opposite sex thinks it looks ridiculous, they do so in the name of style. It may seem foolish, but it's no more foolish than women wearing low cut waists so they can look like Britney when the result is that their rear ends end up looking like Al Campanis. As for length, consider yourself lucky. No matter how long jeans are, you can always hem them or cut them. It's a problem when they are too short. It's a lot easier to shorten jeans by a few inches than to take the waist in by a few inches. It's gotten to the point where I literally cannot find a single pair of pants in a clothing store that fit. A couple of decades ago, it was common to find men's pants with a 29 inch waist and 34 inch length. Now it's just about impossible to find pants with less than a 32 inch waist at all, and if there are any, they end at 30 inches. If I were morbidly obese, I'd have no problem, because the shelves are loaded with pants with 45 inch waists, but finding anything that fits is nearly impossible. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.14.05 (11:31 am) Reply to: Dariana I don't mind jeans tight around the butt so much...something has to keep my jeans up! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.14.05 (11:33 am) Reply to: userfriendly What do guys do about jeans when they care?? Do they care how it looks in the front, too?? posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.14.05 (11:35 am) Reply to: mblog I didn't mind the high-waisted look so much, but they're not the most comfortable. Where do you go to find pants these days??! posted by: 14u2nv2 (reply) post date: 11.14.05 (12:30 pm) lol my thing is my big butt and small waist. I mean jeans that fit my waist are too small in the butt. If they fit my butt right..they are huge in the waist :( posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.15.05 (9:17 am) Reply to: 14u2nv2 Some of my friends have that problem, too!! The Gap now has a "curvy" style jean which I think gives more room in the tushie. I just think if you ever find a pair of jeans that fits, get them right away!! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.15.05 (9:19 am) Reply to: userfriendly As long as your jeans don't give you the "I just pooed myself" look, I think you're all good :) posted by: SusanofPudlin (reply) post date: 11.15.05 (10:05 am) I have good luck with Ann Taylor jeans. They come in petite so I don't have to hem them. Bonus! They even make MY butt look pretty good. That is sayin' sumpin'. posted by: 14u2nv2 (reply) post date: 11.15.05 (12:20 pm) Reply to: rosietulips lol yup..despite the cost. posted by: princessapricot (reply) post date: 11.16.05 (3:51 pm) Original Boot Cut jeans by Gap - make my ass look lucious and my front look smaller than it really is. You can't beat that! And they do make them in short sizes :) posted by: aliciarose (reply) post date: 11.17.05 (4:37 am) Keep em both I say! lol A girl can never have to many jean. I keep looking, but it's hopeless. I have some pants from 10 years ago that fit. After that, I gained some weight, so they just stayed in the closet. Then my doctor put me on a diet. I was never fat, but I did have enough belly fat to wear "normal" clothing. Now I'm finding out that sizes have shifted. What used to be a size 8 for women is now called a size 6. What used to be called a 34 inch waist for men is now called a 32 inch waist. For women, it's at least understandable that sizes are relative terms, but how can inches be relative? I suppose that somebody whose waist grew to 34 inches might feel good if he can find pants with a 32 inch waist that fit, but the problem is that it's not real. |
