I didn't bring a date last night to my staff party and it was the *best* party I had attended in the last 5 years. BWAHAHA So maybe I will never bring a date again.
I had a chance to talk with my co-workers and not have to worry about my date getting bored.
I sat next to the new guy during dinner. He's really attractive and was an interesting guy. Too bad he left early :P
I didn't do all that much dancing since every time the DJs played anything good, the dance floor cleared out. Since we have a very big Latin contingent in our company, the floor was more packed when the DJs played Latin music. There was some very fancy footwork out there! Very cool to watch. The 80s music just seems to get the crowd going too *retch*
I think the DJs were done around 1, but some co-workers and I sat around and talked, and then we went to eat. There was this one really drunk project manager amongst the group (of 4) of us that went to eat. Everytime we were somewhat alone, he'd try to get personal with me.
I think every guy who's tried to get close to me has said, "you're very difficult to read." It kind of frustrates me to hear that [because I feel that I'm just straight up with people, so why would i be difficult to read?], but I think I kind of like being that way. I especially like to fly under the radar at work.
So this PM...he mentioned a few times that I am difficult to read, and then he asked me if I was a lesbian (in a roundabout way) BWAHAHAHAHAA  And the type of things he kept saying just made me think he's a dirty man. I know being drunk is no excuse. He was entertaining. He kept saying he wanted to get to know me better. He's my old boss' neighbour, actually. My old boss was very professional with me, but I knew he was dirty, too.
Anyway, at the restaurant, we just gossipped and laughed a lot. Then I dropped them all back off at the hotel and went home. That PM gave me a hug, inhaled me, and said that we should talk more. Actually earlier in the night, he asked if we could MSN.
It could be fun, but having IT or anyone in the company with the power to read chat logs is already one danger...but then for them to read chat logs between coworkers could be even more detrimental. And then there's my icon with the butt being spanked. Even though I don't use that one while I am at work, it still shows for some people.
And I came home with the prize that I wanted!! I got my Photoshop CS :D Actually, that PM won it, but I batted my eyelashes and asked if I could trade him. I had a Quizno's gift certificate and some fridge magnets  I think the new guy "accidentally" left his fridge magnets behind. I'd have too, if I got them. They're Christmas-themed. But I am going to return them to him anyway. He is very swoon-worthy  ...tall...white...not old...not young...has traveled...athletic...musically-inclined...But he's in Marketing...so...*shrugs* Anyway, he was just an interesting guy, that's all...very personable and down-to-earth.
I also got my service award, too. I got a certificate that didn't acknowledge my anniversary date, and I got a letter with a link to a site where I can pick out my anniversary gift. It will have our company logo on it. They used to give out gift certificates...
I got a (birthday) gift card in the mail from my best friend, too. :D Maybe I will return the last of my CD spree, and rebuy it later. You can't *not* have some Guns 'n' Roses.
Last night, one of the DJs told me the difference between R&B and hip hop, too. I think he said the only difference was that hip hop had rap while R&B did not. You learn something new every day :P I'm not a huge fan of either, so I've always just lumped them all together.
Okay, time to get ready for the astrologist!

The work party was definitely fun :)
I tried the latest Photoshop when I was taking my photography class, but I have only 7.0 at home. Now I can get rid of it!
