++Happy anniversary to me!
12.19.05 (8:46 am)   [edit]
Five and a half months later, my company has recognised my 5 years of service. With that, I can choose a gift from a Web site.

I've narrowed down my choices to three things, and I don't know which I'd want most:

1. A 6" Nambe butterfly bowl. http://www.bodanica.com/produ...

2. A ring. https://www.awardselect.com/simg/odw/m/non_dangle /47004273_rgb_m.jpg
"Crafted in fashion's latest metal, stainless steel, this flat ring exhibits a high-polish finish and brilliant-cut .03ct diamond. 4 mm, comfort fit band."

3. A drill. https://www.awardselect.com/simg/odw/m/non_dangle /803496_rgb_m.jpg
"Skil 3/8" Drill/Driver. Features 12 volts, variable speed/reversing, 3/8" keyless chuck, six torque settings, bit size indicator, soft grip, and on board bit holder."

I wish I could actually see these things up close, so I could make a better choice!

Opinions, anyone??

I declined on fishing gear, necklaces, cutlery, crystal, prints, clocks, luggage, binoculars, telescopes, globes, pens, golf carts, Swiss army knives, and watches.

The bowl is ugly. The ring is nice. The drill is the most useful. I gotta go with Irish on this though...ask for cash.

Good to read you by the way.

I was all set to go for the drill until my coworker said 12 volts is not enough...

I'd definitely go with the fishing gear - and go fishing for an employer that appreciates me more. ;)

BWAHAHAA Sports fishing looks like fun with the waders 'n' stuff...but I was highly unsuccessful the first and last time I went fishing...I was 9 and we were at a fish farm, and it was RAINING!!

I was referring to you fishing for a new job. Waders are not figure-flattering...

Perhaps the binoculars would be a better choice for you to keep an eye out for a more appreciative employer.

*L* just like the telescope...Definitely in the near year, my job hunt will start. In another 5 years, I'd be able to choose another one of those gifts, only it'd be of higher quality...BWAHAHHAA

I would pick the drill because I dont really have a use for the bowl although I dont think it is ugly.

I wouldn't mind the drill either, but apparently, it's not enough POWER! I need POWER! zzzzz

Hey Rosie!

The Ring and Drill are nice...I would go with the drill myself. 12volts is low on the voltage side, there are more powerfull ones out there, but if you use it for light work...it should be fine.

Congrats on the 5 years of service. Guess what I got for 10 years of service...FIRED! GRRR!

Well, at this point, I'd just use the drill for putting together shelving and hanging things on walls!!
In 5 years, I could get fired too :-p But at least there was severence, right??! :-/

Suppose that depends on who or what you're drilling.

Happy Holidays by the way.

Maybe your husband's company's HR can provide him with a link. My links are almost 3 years old!
