Is it too hot? posted by: katz (reply) post date: 07.05.06 (11:09 am) yeah smoothies are good... i had to cut them out too posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 07.05.06 (11:51 am) Reply to: lynne My chair is still inside. I'm not sure if I am ready to take the plunge to move it! Quite frankly, I'd rather use real patio furniture! BWAHAHAA posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 07.05.06 (11:52 am) Reply to: katz Smoothies are so filling though. Or maybe that is just the good ol' feeling that dairy gives me. posted by: scubadiva (reply) post date: 07.05.06 (1:41 pm) I used to love to have yogurt + pineapple in a 'smoothie'. I don't even want to think about the amount of calories or carbs I ingested. I have protein drinks to have on the fly when I'm crunched for time or feeling lazy. I had a few bites of potato salad yesterday. It didn't even taste good. First time I've had a potato in any shape form or fashion in...4 years? I wasn't even worth it. It needed more pepper... Sucks when you go off your diet and don't even enjoy it. GRRRR. Do you think the heart monitor is going to improve your workouts or is it just a fashion accessory? (ahem) Doesn't most of your gym equipment already have heart rate monitors built in? (Frugal voice of reason) posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 07.05.06 (7:52 pm) Reply to: scubadiva I have a protein drink every morning, but when I add my protein powder to my smoothies, that's half a cup of yogurt, a small banana, and half a cup of strawberries!! When I am out of yogurt, it will be back to the shakes; they taste more like frothy chocolate milk! Why did it take four years for you to have another potato?? Potatoes just aren't all that exciting. BWAHAHA The cardio equipment at my gym has heart rate monitors, but who knows if they're correct?? However, I plan on running around outside, so a heart rate monitor will be fun! Wearing it underneath my clothes won't be that great, and I will get that watch tanline, which sucks too. posted by: scubadiva (reply) post date: 07.06.06 (2:45 am) Reply to: rosietulips I have been on a very low carb diet for five years - I broke down and had some potato skins with some potato on it after a year *was delish. I see potatoes, bread, pasta, flour as 'evil food' for me. I thought about beeing a heart rate monitor a few years ago, but when I stepped back, I realized I wouldn't use it and weighed how much it would really impact my workout. (They do have some that don't use the strap around the waist). Whatever floats your boat though... posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 07.06.06 (10:19 am) Reply to: scubadiva I try to limit foods made from white flour, but potatoes have never really appealed to me. It's white rice that I have a weakness for though. It's so comforting to me. posted by: scubadiva (reply) post date: 07.06.06 (10:39 am) Reply to: rosietulips Never been a rice girl myself... My 'weakness' would be a baked sweet potato with butter and brown sugar. YUM. I allow myself to have it once a year on Thanksgiving. I scope out the BIGGEST potato I can find for weeks ahead of time. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 07.06.06 (11:10 am) Reply to: scubadiva I baked some acorn squah that way once...with butter and brown sugar. It was good but took too long to cook!!! I usually just boil sweet potatoes and eat them whole. posted by: scubadiva (reply) post date: 07.06.06 (11:34 am) Reply to: rosietulips Much easier to nuke them for a couple of minutes. Less effort and plates needed. ;) posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 07.06.06 (11:50 am) Reply to: scubadiva Nuking it just seems different. Maybe next time I'll wrap it in a wet paper towel so it doesn't get dry. posted by: scubadiva (reply) post date: 07.07.06 (2:00 am) Reply to: rosietulips Never gets dry with me. Maybe you're cooking it on full power? Then again, the butter sort of re-adds moisture. Mwahahaa. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 07.07.06 (7:50 am) Reply to: scubadiva When I am done with my I Can't Believe it's Not Butter, I think I will switch to butter. I'll take the saturated fat over the trans fat. posted by: scubadiva (reply) post date: 07.07.06 (8:21 am) Reply to: rosietulips I'm doing no dairy right now, so no butter in the house - mmmmmm good. |
