Thanks for the condoms, mom
10.02.06 (11:51 am)   [edit]

My mom bought me condoms at Costco yesterday, but she had no idea. I threw them in the cart. She thought they were food, and asked me what they were. I just responded to her question with another question. She wasn't pretending to not know either. She'a always encouraged me to wait until marriage to get it on. Now she just tells me to not be cheap.

I spent a lot of time with Mr. Nick this weekend, and it went well :-) I don't think we had planned to spend so much time together, but it just happened that way. We went down to the States and did some shopping Friday. Saturday we just hung out, and he met some of my friends. I am sure they liked him. Sunday we parted ways when it was time for me to hang with my mom. I'm glad that I had Sunday to myself for a while though.

I am thinking of asking him to get tested. Tonight seems as good as any time. He's cookin'! His insistance on condom use is good but makes me nervous.

"insistance on condom use" - hmmm.... that really could be both a good and bad sign. Really, you shouldn't be having sex (protected or not) with someone that you think may be "dirrty" (for lack of a better word). However, it is better to be safe then sorry, and he may also just be being responsible. You know him best, you be the judge of his commment.

If Mr. Nick really likes you he'll get tested for you, and you'll do the same for him, if your relationship is worth it. (which it sounds like it is so far :)

Good Luck babes!!!

PS... what does "he's cookin." mean?

BWAHAHA He's cookin' literally means he is cooking dinner for me tonight. With the condom thing, I think he's just very responsible. I have no qualms about getting tested. I even offered!!

I don't see why people should get offended when getting asked to be tested...it's better to be safe than sorry. I haven't gotten anything either, and I don't intend on getting anything!

Good for you for being safe. More people should do that as for the condoms...hehehe....my mom would probably do the same thing!

My mom is such a prude that she still discourages sexual activity!

What would have been worse:
"Honey, your father and I always preferred the ribbed ones."

What's even worse is that the ones in my nightstand have expired.

How sad is that????

I am already sorry I went through my parents' night stand when I was younger!!
I've thrown out expired condoms. They were pricey, too! I was a little apprehensive about getting 3 boxes...I hope I don't regret it. But I guess they will last a few years.

Well tell Mr. Wonderful that your mom bought you the 'professional girl's size box' and you'll need his assistance in getting thru them.

*pokes her head out innocently*
condoms have expiry dates?

....why?

I'll be sure to get the point across that I don't want those condoms going to waste!

Good question! I guess lubricants and spermicide can go bad, but I think condoms just break down over time. Remember to put them in your wallet or leave them in your car!

Oh, that makes sense! See, they never teach you useful things like this in school.

If only I had a car to put them in or a willing boy. XD

hahaha. I have to confess that I have also thrown away old condoms. I think it is funny that you threw them in the cart at Costco. :)

For a moment, I did hesitate to get Costco portions of condoms...it's a big commitment to use up all those condoms!

I think from now on, I'll forward all my about to be expired condoms to you because they ain't getting used here...

Or we could start a donation box to those with a sex life but w/o condoms.

I'd go for donating them to all those who are too afraid to buy them!

I had a Catholic friend several years ago that refused to go into the drug store to buy them. I had to go get them. I would call her on the cell phone while she'd sit in the car, asking her which ones, mentiong X brand was on sale, blah blah blah. Now she was 40ish at the time and she was using them - it wasn't like her parents were going to find out -they lived a few states away. REEE-DICK-U-LOUS!

Goodness...why have sex at all? Was she wrought with guilt every time she got it on??
