Balls
10.06.06 (8:53 am)   [edit]

I'm completely out of dryer sheets finally. I want to switch to dryer balls!! I hate the film that the dryer sheets leave on my towels. But this means no more dryer sheet smell. How can I make my clean laundry smell nice??

AND OOOOH CRAP!!!!!

My old boss let me know about a job lead, but my RESUME IS NOT READY. GAAAAAH

My old boss also told this guy that I have a decade of experience. I don't know where he pulled that number.

SH*TD*MNMOTHERF*CKER!&nbs p;

Well, good thing it is the long weekend. This guy wants to talk to  me ASAP, but I must update my resume. Ugh.

The job sounds pretty good...it's another tech writing position for a software company. I just like the guy's outlook on documentation. The job itself has several cons, though.

1. My commute would be 3 - 4 times longer.
2. The pay may not even be close to what I am making now (negotiable, of course).
3. The company is puny.

I want my next job to be a technical writing job for a big company that cares about documentation and its technical writers. It would be nice if the pay was great, benefits were great, and  I had a flexible schedule.

I am tired again.

I think I will email the guy and give him a brief summary about myself. Then I will madly rush to update my resume and send it to him over the weekend.

And even if the guy doesn't think I'm a fit for the position, at least I will have an updated resume.

I also might need my mom to return the condoms she bought me! BWAHAHA

Ugh. commuting, the most evil word in the dictionary. i wanna work in the city, but the thought of travelings two hours there and two hours back (on a good day!) just kills me. sorry, not trying to color your opinion. Hope you get a job you like. :)

LOL why does your mom have to return the condoms she bought you ?? :) I'd love to see the look she gets if she does :)

I *really* like my 10-15 minute commutes right now. And there is not much snow in my city during the winters.

To get the nice smell in your laundry, buy some lavender water. I bought some at Restoration Hardware that is AMAZING. It's essentially just water with lavender scent to it that you add to the rinse cycle of your load. If you're not into Lavender, I recall them having a couple of difference scents. Every once in a while you can also find this stuff at Winners. I stock up whenever I see stuff like that over there.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending how you look at it), my mom bought the rubbers on her Costco American Express! So she should be the one to return them. She has the receipt, too. I just want to avoid more opportunities for her to figure out exactly what she bought me. BWAHAHAA

Ooh, I will have to keep it in mind. When I was down at the outlet mall last week, there was a Restoration Hardware! I didn't go in. I rarely to to Winners, too. All that weeding through stuff makes me impatient. But then I miss out on good deals!!

Returning rubbers? You can do that??? I thought buying condoms was kinda like buying underwear. LOL

Oh, and my 2cents on the new job... smaller company makes me say 'NO, don't take it'. You are right that larger companies offer more to their employees.

Costco takes anything back! It's not like the rubbers were used :-)
Now I feel kind of bad. I am going to apply for a job that I don't really want, but I do want the experience of applying!

Hi again, Rosie!
It's very flattering when a boss (even if it's an old boss) thinks enough of you to mention a job opportunity :-) I don't blame you for not wanting the longer commute. I left a job that where I was commuting almost 30 miles one way. Trust me, it got old REALLY quick. Now my commute is about 10-12 miles - yippee! I'm going to really enjoy this in the winter! :-)....As for the dryer balls, I really like them. They seem to make laundry dry faster and your clothes are actually a little softer when they come out.....I'm not going to touch the comment about the condoms LOL :P

Should I even be offered the job, the pay had better be *really* good. I will sacrifice a little for a really good position.
And I don't think my mom had a clue that she bought me condoms!

I loved my old boss! He was great. He never micromanaged, that's for sure and he was always quick to praise. My current commute is just over 6 miles. I love that, too!! HOw long have you been using dryer balls? I used mine for the first time today, and I underestimated their power *L*
