Hi Rosie!

I know how it feels to give 2 weeks notice - it's exciting and a little nerve wracking at the same time, isn't it?? LOL For me, my last 2 weeks at my old job were probably 2 of the longest weeks of my life :-( (long story) When it was over, I felt like a huge weight was finally off my shoulders :-)
At any rate....best of luck to you, and do keep us posted as to anything that pops up during your last 2 weeks!

Since they are a start-up, you DEFINITELY should negotiate if they are unwilling to give you more details than 'we'll have benefits in a month or two', etc. You have a lot more power now - when they want you and before they become officially part of the the larger organization. Ask for the 4 weeks vacay. Negotiate pay increase if moving further away. All of these are do-able.

Thanks! I will surely post updates :) I am looking forward to a new environment, that's for sure. I am most curious about the kind of people I will be working with. It's such a small office that it'd be a pain if we all didn't get along!

I did the best negotiating I could. When a year is up, I guess there is room for more negotiating. At my current employer, they "tried" to use averages based on other groups. Lame.
