11.08.06 (7:54 am)   [edit]

Good news...My commute was a lot more pleasant since I took a different route. I think I will stick with it.

Bad news...I skipped breakfast so I wouldn't be stuck in traffic. I slept in this morning :( I was up late packing, but at least I am pretty much done!! WOOOO!  Unfortunately, there is no guarantee what the weather will be. I have sort of packed for summer/spring. I didn't even bother with daytime shoes.

The temps have been like 30'C, but the forecast keeps saying low teens. That's quite a difference!! And it matters!!

What exactly is a wake? My friend's father's funeral is tomorrow on the other side of the country, but there's going to be a wake for him next week.

Wakes are basically an excuse for family and friends to all get together and get completely hammered. They usually happen a couple of days after the funeral so that everybody is over the really morbid feeling and it takes on more of a party atmosphere.

No wonder my friend's brother called it a party! George was definitely a party-er. A wake is so fitting! The funeral is early next week, and the wake is next weekend. Ah, George...RIP.

Hey, how come you don't post in your blog??

Wow, you can comment without being logged in again! For a while, you had to be logged into post comments. I wish the site had notified the masses!

I'm leaving tomorrow for California!! I hope you get your full weekend in Seattle :)

A wake is when you get to look at the dead person, cause they think we want to for some reason. The funeral home is open all day, and everyone comes and looks at them.

*L* I guess that is sort of close to a wake?? I've heard enough stories about the deceased's spirit coming back to their home the next day to pay one last visit. *shudder*

You don't get to see the dead person at a wake...that's at the funeral. I really dislike funerals. :( They're so sad.

i will not recommend sebastianjoshua's blog for those who are dead. the living may read it.
