Nothing like retainers
11.17.06 (8:41 am)   [edit]

With the abundance of wind and rain here lately, there have been power outages.

Last night, my dance class was canceled. It would have been nice if they could have phoned or e-mailed, but no...I got all the way to the studio and there was a note on the door. Due to power outages, class is canceled. Power outages for whom?! The studio's area has been fine! The lights were on.

And to top it off, we were requested to call to make up our missed class. If everyone was missing their class because they canceled it, shouldn't *they* be the ones to make arrangements for a makeup class?

From day one, they've been running the studio in a way I haven't liked it. The only reason I am still there is because I want to get better. They don't care about retaining students. It's plainly obvious when over the last 2.5 years that most of their classes are Level 1 and teaser classes. Yeah, that's ride that fad wave. Maybe I should look into the other studios to compare for myself.

That's lame. I totally agree that they should be the ones to be calling YOU to re-schedule. Might certainly be worthwile to look for a new place.

How rude!!! It might be worth your while to at least look into the possibility of moving to a different studio...
BTW...sounds like you had a great time in CA!! :-) I'm jealous LOL I would love to go back to CA!
Hey...how's your new job coming along??

There is nothing wrong with doing a little shopping around. you never know when you might find something better!

I think there is only one other dance studio, and the location is not as good. I just wish the studio I stuck by for 3 years was a little more loyal to their students. I've been with them since the very beginning!

I was trying to avoid going somewhere new, but I guess I have nothing to lose!

I will have to see what other dance studios are out here. I only know of one other and they are a bit pricier although I think the teachers were pros.

You should make a trip back to CA (maybe you will be working there eventually? ;-))

The job is okay. My boss has been incognito for the most part since his wife just gave birth. I've been left to my own devices to make my own work. I'm not sure I really like that.

I'll definitely be checking into a new dance studio. I don't want to give up the dancing, but I am really disliking my current place!!
