Birthday
12.12.06 (11:13 am)   [edit]

So my birthday is coming up, and it's going to be my 30th. I haven't thought much about it. I have friends asking me what I'm going to do (to celebrate). I've been telling them "nothing".

I don't want to organise something to celebrate me. It just seems narcissistic.

I've been spending more time organising a dinner for me and some girlfriends. It's a dinner in lieu of doing a gift exchange. I was majorly annoyed that I was waiting for one person to respond. Everyone else responded within that day. Then yesterday she sent out an e-mail sounding like she was organising it. For some reason, she just hadn't felt like replying to my original e-mails. Thanks.

My original plan for my real birthday was to go for a morning workout, go for lunch with my dad, go see a movie, and have dinner with Mr. Nick.

I can't get a morning workout. An old coworker suggested a bunch of us getting together for lunch, and the only day that's good for everyone is my birthday. So I may lose my workout (it'll be the last day before my trainer goes on mat leave), not see my movie, or my dad for lunch.

I am a little alarmed at my own apathy! I had planned out my whole birthday and it looks like there is a possibility of nothing coming to fruition.

Personally, I'd say that I had plans. It might be wrong of me but I think it's unfair that your friends assume you have nothing else planned on your birthday and seriously, it is YOUR day and you should really do what you want to do.

I agree... I've told many people that I can't do lunch cause I have to work out. (But maybe that's cause I'm a gym junkie! I need my daily fix! LOL)

I hope whatever you decide to do you have a lot of fun!!! Your birthday should be good times, not a pain in the ass!

Have a peice of cake for me too :)

My friends were asking me how I wanted to celebrate my birthday with them. We usually all get together on the weekend before someone's birthday. But everyone is always so busy at this time of year. Having a birthday close to Christmas is so sucky sometimes! (Actually, it is sucky a lot of the time!)

I would totally go work out at lunch but it's the showering and makeup re-application that makes me not want to do it.
I don't even know if I am having cake this year :-/ I want some DQ ice-cream cake, but those things are massive!

Hi rosie!!
Sorry to hear your plans are not turning out to be what you had hoped for!! You definitely should have some special way to celebrate hitting the big 3-0 :-) You never know, your friends might have something special planned that they aren't telling you about :-)
I turn 30 in March and my sister and I had planned on taking a trip to celebrate. Well we started planning this trip last year around Easter! LOL Needless to say nothing has really been finalized so we just might not be going anywhere after all :-( LOL I'm sure no matter what you do, it will be a great birthday celebration for you!! :-)

Well, happy birthday in advance :)
Hey, it's your birthday, so stand your ground and do exactly what you want to do!
I hope it all works out to your heart's content!

Peace and Love to you today and always,
Doe

Thirty is good, you are out of the adult infancy stage and becoming a true pure adult.

I liked my 30's.
Now I'm into my 40's and they take some adjusting to ( meaning mentally realizng that you are actually getting older , seeing the effects of your misspent youth ( maybe too much sun, too much weight , babies , etc) , still alive and capable of learning and growing.
Every decade has it's challenges and rewards.
I'm hoping the 30's rock for you ,dear gal !

A sisterly trip sounds like fun!! I am sure my birthday will be a good day. My friends and I might do something the weekend after. I also share a birthday with another friend!

Thank you! I am looking forward to my 30s, but for some reason I'd rather just skip over 30!!
