Not my best spa experience...
02.01.07 (11:51 am)   [edit]

BWAHAHAA

There is a spa near my work that recently opened up. I dropped by for a pedicure months back, and they had this deal going on. For $50, you could buy 4 packages of services. All the services were fully covered unless you wanted to upgrade. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Anyway, maybe this spa still has some kinks to work out, but I prefer more professional environments. There is always someone not working there hanging around chit chatting with the staff.

The first pedicure I got there smudged right away :( But, they have these *great* massage chairs. I wish I had one at home.

I went there last week for a facial. The massage part was great! The facial wasn't so bad either. But I had to wait 15 minutes to get into my scheduled appointment.

Yesterday, I had the worst massage EVER! Even though I am fairly (okay, very) ticklish, I have done okay in the past. If I wasn't in pain, I was trying really hard not to laugh. And then I finally figured out that I wished this spa had more nail polish colours!! I also got a pedicure yesterday. I don't like the shape of the nail and I don't like the final colour either!!

I have a hair appointment with them booked in a couple of weeks, but I might cancel.

And oops, I forgot to sign my credit car slip yesterday. I wonder if I will get charged for my services even though I should. But I didn't sign the slip!

first time i saw those massage chairs, was in HK, may be causeway bay ????, and then it cost around 27,000 HK$. I dont know if the price has reduced by now? it was a wonderful experience, sitting on the massage chairs for an hour for free, in their display centre. I enjoyed it :)

I love the massage chairs at the mall. You stick a buck in and ta da, instant massage. I'd like to stick a $20 in and stay there for a few hours!

Yep, I'm sure you'll get charged. Just them putting the card through the machine makes the charge.
Why did you have to pay if you had already purchased?
I made our reservations for our anniversary get away and asked about making an appt. for a couple's massage. $260 for a 50 minute massage! Holy Crappin' Cow! No Way! I can get one here for $75-$85 that includes a facial and it lasts for 90 mins including the facial but, she's rubbing my feet while the mask is on. She tried to tell me it was because it was at one of the top health and wellness spas in the US. Big whoopity fartin' doo....KWIM? hehe

Hey, I'd let them know you aren't happy with your services. Maybe they'll comp you something?

Massage products have been around HK for ages! I remember seeing a lot of demos when I was a kid. I sure hope massage chair prices have dropped by now BWAHAHAHA But I think a good one might still cost around that much. *gulp*

I upgraded my massage to include the pedicure, and the upgrade cost was paid after my service (good thing I didn't upgrade to prolong the massage! Haha!). I think legally they still need the signature even if they slid my card through. Not that I would dispute the charge. But then again, at Dairy Queen, they don't even ask for a signature for credit card purchases anymore!

I don't ever want to go back there again *L* so I won't complain. I will just stick the spas I usually go to :)

$260 for a 50 minute massage is crazy!! Even for 2 people! $75 for a massage and facial is more like it :)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, things like that and over the phone and online purchases. Oh well, if they don't charge you, that's good, since you didn't enjoy it anyway. :)
