I love it!

The "gl" has been replaced with a chocolate dipped strawberry and there's some chocolate splatters on one of the Os. That strawberry looks just like the ones I will be getting from my favourite chocolate store. The whole strawberry is dipped with milk chocolate, and there is a touch of white chocolate, too.

I'm not sure I like Valentine's Day. It was better when I was single. Feb. 14 was hardly a blip on my radar. I think in the last 5 years, there have been 2 or 3 occasions where I was dating someone.

I don't even know what I expect from the person I am seeing...maybe just something thoughtful to show that they were thinking of me. But the thing is...the boy is usually thinking of me on other non-Valentine's days. So why can't I see the big picture on this?

With my last real ex, he gave me a promise ring. But we broke up that same summer (after 3 and a half years of being together). Then the following year, I was scrambling the day before Valentine's Day to get a gift together. This guy was relatively new, and I wasn't even sure I was going to see him on the day. But we did end up getting together (I think his sister was in town, too).

And then the year after that, I wasn't even sure if the guy and I were dating. But I scrambled to get a gift together. (Do you know how slim the pickings are for cards on Feb. 14th??). And he had gotten me a rose and some liqueur-filled chocolates. I was kind of pissed off. I broke things off with him the next day. I was using Valentine's Day as a test. Looking back now, the chocolates were funny. I don't drink, and I don't care for liqueurs.

I think I was a little bummed last year. I was into Cute Butt Boy, and he took a day trip to get out of town. And of course there was no mention of V-Day. I actually need to call him. He worked at the company I am going to get my interview with.

And my interview has been rescheduled for Friday. I wish it was today since my boss is not in the office.

Happy Valentines day....I think if you have a boy friend, a card is a must... I have always told my kids it didn't matter about the gift, but at least a card....and my son always gives me a card, my girls don't though.....they must be slow learners....lol He came over and shoveled snow today, but come to think of it, I didn't get a card.. first time.....but I have to say my hubby never forgot Valentines day...always either roses or chocolates and a card.....I hope your guy doesn't forget the day....kick him in the butt if he does.....judy

I told him I wanted a card, but I don't think he will pick one up. He had, however, said he would pick up my favourite chocolate dipped strawberries for me for Valentine's Day. I should be thankful for that, right?? I have to admit I still wish for some sweet surprise!

I agree. The last minute effort to scramble around and give a Valentines gift doesn't impress. It does not have to be an expensive or big thing, but it ought to be thoughtful. We're both on a diet, so candy is out. I got my wife, yesterday, a card and some pretty flowers. And, so valentines socks! They were red and pink, very warm, and had individual little toes. I thought them to be a thoughtful gift. So, she rushed out this morning and got me a couple of little items. I'm thinking getting me a gift had not crossed her mind. So, I was polite and thankful, but the gift to be honest did not impress because not a lot of thought went into it. I know, I know, call me shallow.

And, I do like the chocolate dipped strawberries.

Those are some nice gifts you got your wife :) And I won't call you shallow!! What if she had gotten you nothing? My mom seems to think any old gift is better than no gift at all. I'm not sure I wholly agree with that!

Thanks for dropping by my blog :)

Yeah, I don't like the last minute thing either. Hubby came home with balloons and roses. Nice, yes..thoughtful? Yes but, as Pastor Dave said, not a lot of thought went into it.

My gift was much more thought out. Geez, I sound so ungrateful...ugh.

Mmmmmm chocolate covered strawberries :)

so far for me and my wife everyday is a valentine's day and its been 10 years....so far the key to success is that we keep doing something for each other, on each and every day, to flourish our love for each other. Life is good :)

There are lots of last minute gift shoppers out there, Men were running into the store until I closed looking for that last minuet gift, the saddest one is the middle aged guy that came in saying that he and his wife had decided that they would not exchange gifts but his daughter was visiting and she had received flowers, so then his wife and everyone was looking at him like where are the flowers? I fixed him a big bouquet that was sure to impress and he was so grateful.
The most important thing that I have found is be Happy whether it's thought out or last minuet because I have known so many women in tears that they didn't get anything.
