I talked with a woman (while I was waiting to receive chemo) one day who had lost all of her nails--toes and fingers. Ouch! I hope it doesn't hurt. posted by: LadyG (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (8:50 am) You must have had a fungus infection in your toenail. hope it's not painful. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (9:04 am) Reply to: ggirl Can nails just fall right off during chemo?? I bruised a pinky nail when I was a kid, and when that fell off, I was pretty grossed out! But this toenail looked like it was half off so I cut off whatever I could. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (9:05 am) Reply to: LadyG Oh dear...maybe I picked up something from the gym (EW!) It doesn't really hurt...it just feels like I cut my nail too short, which I guess I did (EW!) posted by: LadyG (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (9:27 am) Reply to: rosietulips, rosie, most likely you picked it up at the gym. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (9:28 am) Reply to: LadyG Does this mean I should be going to a doctor to take care of this toe?! posted by: themarina (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (9:58 am) hmm. I'm not sure I'd worry that much about the toe nail. I cut my little toe nails off almost completely and I can tell you it's not because of any infection... posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (10:02 am) Reply to: themarina Do you always cut off your little toenails?? posted by: SupremeAnna (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (6:12 pm) I am always cutting off more nail than viable. Maybe you could buy press-on fingernails and try to file them down to fit...? posted by: thecyberwriter (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (6:22 pm) I wouldn't worry about your toe nails that much. I also tend to cut the nails on my little toes damn near down to the skin. It just seems so pointless to have one on that toe to begin with LOL And I also agree with what you said about feet being the grossest part on the human body LOL I have memories of some relatives like yours...I miss them too, but I know someday I will see them again ;-) posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (6:28 pm) Reply to: SupremeAnna Or maybe I will wear socks and make sure my ugly toenails are covered. BWAHAHAA posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (6:30 pm) Reply to: thecyberwriter It is a comforting thought when I think about seeing my (passed) relatives again. I just hope that toenail was fubared from my athletic shoes and that I didn't get some sort of fungus!! EEEW! posted by: SupremeAnna (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (6:36 pm) Reply to: rosietulips No, be proud of your toenail - it's a casualty of the pedicure wars! :) lol posted by: FitGirl (reply) post date: 03.14.07 (8:20 am) I stubbed my toe and that toenail fell off too... doesn't take much, eh? lol Glad you resolved things with Mr. Nick :) He sounds like an understanding kind of guy! PS... I'm glad you have fond memories of your late Grandfather! I will be extremely sad when I have to face the same reality! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 03.14.07 (8:34 am) Reply to: FitGirl Why do even have toenails?!!! OH wait...I do drop things on my feet a lot. Those nails must provide some sort of protection...I hope... Mr. Nick is great :) I have only one grandmother left...I will be also really sad when she passes :( |
