My husband has to buy it because I still refuse to spend a dime in that place. I disagree with their business practices as well...always have. I think it's important to stick by your guns, but when you're in a pinch, you're in a pinch. It's good that you have a social conscious at all, so many others don't. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 04.10.07 (10:14 am) Reply to: wolfen There are no Wal-marts convenient to me. I'm not sure I'd shop there, either! posted by: themarina (reply) post date: 04.10.07 (10:56 am) I do my best to avoid the businesses that are generally considered to have bad business practices. The problem is that when you're tight on money, you don't have a choice. I've known more than my share of people who have trouble making it from month to month and they don't have the luxury of shopping at any place other than Walmart. It's a sad reality that, for the most post, 'ethical' businesses usually mean more $$$ out of the consumers pocket. More money a large percentage of consumers can't afford. I'm not saying that gives anyone an excuse but, I can see their side of the argument. Great post. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 04.10.07 (12:57 pm) Reply to: themarina I love paying as little as possible for the things I want, but I draw the line somewhere. However, I haven't given up a lot of clothing brands even though I probably should. |
