You are litterally pounding the pavenemt when you walk or run, so it's no wonder that you are feeling the effects in your ankle. My advice is to ice your ankle, no more walks until it starts to improve. The ice will bring down the swelling and aid in the recovery! And keeping off of it for a while might do the rest of your body some good too. Maybe you need to change your workout routine maybe you started off too strong and that's why you are so exhausted! Good Luck Rosie. 2 months is plenty of time to recover from this injury!!! (or did you mean 2 weeks?) posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 04.30.07 (12:56 pm) Reply to: Fitgirl I think I tripped almost 2 months ago! I should definitely ice, though. My shins are all tight, too! I have one and a half months to fully recover, but I don't want to give up the workouts! posted by: thecyberwriter (reply) post date: 04.30.07 (4:41 pm) Massage therepy just might do the trick, so I say give it a shot! Otherwise, I think it's just called "old age." LOL (really LOL) ;-) posted by: FinalyFree (reply) post date: 04.30.07 (5:34 pm) Might wanna have that ankle x-ray'd. I know it might seem extreme, but my terribly accident prone son has had several broken bones you'd never have thought were actually fractured. And if it is a break the longer you wait the more damage you may do. I say see a Dr :) posted by: lynne (reply) post date: 05.01.07 (7:23 am) I think getting some medical advice is a good idea. in the mean time, you might want to buy some shoes/boots with some ankle support. It helps a lot! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.01.07 (8:19 am) Reply to: FinalyFree I've been hoping my ankle gets better on its own *sigh* I guess I will go see my doctor about it eventually. I am expecting a call soon for her office to tell me to go see her about my blood tests and when I go in, I'll ask about the ankle. For the last couple of years, I've been asked to go about my "high" cholesterol. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.01.07 (8:19 am) Reply to: thecyberwriter If I keep falling apart, I am not really looking forward to old age! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.01.07 (8:20 am) Reply to: lynne Yes, good plan...No high heels or platforms for a while! posted by: ggirl (reply) post date: 05.03.07 (8:20 am) I'm generally in agreement with FitGirl regarding the exhaustion thing. Maybe too much intensity too quickly in your workouts. I know what you mean. When it comes to finding the right answer to the workout problem, I'm clueless. For myself, I tend to keep going until someone convinces me it may kill me. Vitamins? posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.03.07 (12:17 pm) Reply to: ggirl I love going hardcore with my workouts. I didn't have a problem back in the day, and that was only a few years ago! I would take vitamins, but are there any multi-vitamins that aren't the size of bricks?? *L* |
