KitchenAid mixers and foundations
08.20.07 (11:47 am)   [edit]

I used my KitchenAid mixer again on the weekend, and I think I need to adjust where the beater attaches to the mixer. How far down is the beater supposed to go down? Is the bottom of it supposed to just touch the bowl? And I know my thingee isn't centered. I was hoping to avoid having make these minute adjustments. Can I bring my mixer somewhere to get this done for me? I don't want to screw anything up!

And the mixer cozy I bought a couple of months is too short for my mixer. My mixer is wearing a flood cozy!!

I don't think my current company participates in the United Way campaigns, but I do want to donate money this year. I've decided to split my budgeted donation amount between the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (with Mr. Nick in mind) and another organization that does research on vision, etc. I just haven't found a Canadian one yet.

My vision is so poor, and I am sure there are groups out there doing something about eye health...so I'd like to make a contribution there somewhere.

Oh, you know -- a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Put it all together in some heat source and you have cooking!

Good for you Rosie! That's awesome you're still making the donations!

As for the mixer...I'm SO jealous. I've been hinting at hubby that I want one of these for my upcoming birthday!

I should share my earnings. But selfishly speaking, I can get a bit of a tax break for making donations, but it's worth my while only after I donate at least $200 a year!

I don't know if Costco still has the sale going on, but the mixer was $100 off recently! I had gotten mine at $75. Sometimes HomeOutfitters has awesome sales, too...just keep your eyes peeled :)

Once you get the mixer, you'll want the attachments...I don't have any yet, though.

Thanks for wanting to contribute to the Chrohn's and Colitus Foundation. I think that is a huge gesture to make towards your relationship with Mr. Nick. I hope he appreciates it.

I think he would. He did say thanks when I mentioned what I wanted to do.

BWAHAHA What about fringe instead?
I am so uncrafty that I would never think to fix it myself! I may have to contact this woman to make me another one!!

I have a Black and Decker mixer, as a matter of fact, I am going to use it today to bake Choco Chip Banana Bread (recipe in my blog).

Anyways, on mine, there are little tiny icons above the place where you put the beaters. One of my beaters is one shape and the other is a similiar but different shape, they have to be inserted in the right slots or they don't work too well.

I know you say your eyesight is bad, but get a magnifying glass and see if you have the icons and see if the shape of your beaters are slightly different but may look the same.

Mmm...chocolate chip banana bread sounds delicious! I made some banana bread on the weekend, but didn't like how it turned out. It always turns out so much better when other people make it!!

I'll have to check out the beaters...does the Black and Decker mixer work like the KitchenAid? The attachments just hook onto the unit, and I think I may have to make minor adjustments to the unit!!
