Getting sat on and revisiting old trends
09.19.07 (9:28 am)   [edit]

I'm not too crazy about people invading my personal space on the bus, so I always find it strange that people don't mind sitting ass to ass or on top of one another.

Whenever I get a window seat, I always cringe when I think someone larger than me is going to squish down beside me. I like to have a gap between our legs! Okay, I understand if there is going to be a brushing of the thighs, but I really don't like someone's arm resting on me.

Yesterday, this older, bigger woman sat on me as she sat down in the seat. She was wearing way too much old woman, powdery perfume, and then she pulled out her book to read. I was uncomfortably mashed up against the window. If I sat up straight, I was squished right beside her. I don't think she raised the armrest so her buttcheek could hang off the seat a little. GRR! This has been my *most* uncomfortable ride to date.

Luckily, whenever the bus made a really wide turn in the correct direction, I was able to shuffle over the millimeters of space I could recover. But still...

And the fall temperatures are really starting to set in. It seems like tights and boots and skirts are in for the fall. I have resisted my junior high trends all along. But the tights are tempting since it's a short walk from the bus stop to my destination. But I just feel so wrong going back to the fashions I wore in my early teens. And I am liking a lot of the ankle boots I see!

Isn't riding the bus so much fun!?! I know what you mean about "personal space" and I also really hate it when people are so rude with their carry on items. Like hitting others with their back-packs!!

Today as I was exiting the bus the woman sitting beside me barely gave me enough room to get out of my seat, I almost had to step on her feet to get out of my seat! Ugh!

I love fall! I was just thinking that I need to buy some tights so I could wear skirts this fall! We are on teh same wavelength! (PS... I don't think I wore tights in junior high... only as a kid did I wear them. I'm going further back in fashion time then you! LOL)

I remember riding the Greyhound once and this bum was boarding with cardboard boxes for luggage, and used Kleenex half falling out of a ripped pocket of his old, filthy looking coat. So I stretched across two seats and pretended I was sleeping. Luckily he passed by and found another seat.

Ugh! I can't stand the people who don't take off their backpacks or don't watch where their bags are swinging! My head and my shoulder is not a resting spot for bags!!

I've had to climb over people to get off the bus, too, but that's rare...sometimes the bus is just that crwoded.

Didn't you ever wear tights with shorts??

You are lucky! But it'd be such a more entertaining story if he had moved you to make room! The woman yesterday could have used a Kleenex. Ugh. *sniffle* *sniffle* *sniffle*
