I did a little research on Zantac and it sounds like a serious drug used to control stomach acid and ulcers. I wouldn't take that drug for controlling my alcohol consumption... seems counter productive to me! (unless you have gastroesophageal reflux disease or Zollinger-Ellison syndrome) How long is your Corporate retreat? I want to have one of those!!! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 09.20.07 (10:58 am) Reply to: Fitgirl My coworker said it slowed down her digestion or something?? I don't think I'd take drugs just to drink! The corporate retreat is 3 days! I can't wait for Seattle. I'm hoping to take advantage of our lovely dollar right now!! posted by: wolfen (reply) post date: 09.21.07 (12:06 pm) There is always so much social pressure to drink. It's only noticeable to those of us who don't or can't drink I think. It's amazing to me how in everyday situations you are pressured to drink. My own dad is terrible for this. "HERE, have some wine!" (lunch time) I feel really badly for people who are battling alcoholism and face this pressure as well. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 09.23.07 (8:27 am) Reply to: wolfen I tried a joke that fell flat on someone who asked me why I didn't drink. I started off by saying, "well...I've been sober for 3 years now..." That is not a good joke to use on someone who doesn't know you very well! |
