Endings and new beginnings
09.26.07 (10:19 am)   [edit]

I finished watching the rest of my Six Feet Under. The series finale was great! I cried.

I finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I am sad the series has come to an end. I probably cried. I don't remember. But that was my favourite book of them all. I think I will even buy it!

This new season of shows has been overwhelming! My digital cable box can't handle it, and I doubt my VCR will be able to either. I can have my digital box change to the channel when the show is on. It's perfect when I need to tape my shows and I'm not around. However, the box can only handle 8 shows in its memory at all times.

This is what I am watching:

Monday: Heroes, Chuck (kind of a cute show)

Tuesday: Gossip Girl (kind of interesting but I find the subject matter a little disturbing), Beauty and the Geek (as much as I"ve liked the previous seasons, I might have to nix it), and Cane (lots of potential!)

Wednesday: Back to You (only half an hour, thank goodness), America's Next Top Model, Dirty Sexy Money, Private Practice, Criminal Minds. I think there is one other show. But at least after I watch the first episode, I can decide what I don't want to keep watching.

I really want to make marshmallows.

My PVR can record as many things as I like until it reaches capacity. I only record movies and recently cable shows..The Business, Californication, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dexter, Entourage, Flight Of The Conchords, John From Cincinnati and Meadowlands.

I watched the premiere of 'Reaper' last night, much hyped premiere I might add. My take on it: it was ok. Seems like the supporting characters might be really funny. From the looks of the trailers I thought 'The Big Bang Theory' would be good but every single review I've read has been horrible--so I'll probably really like that. I'm just so lost after Big Brother goes off for the season, heh.

I could really use a PVR :( I miss the HBO shows I used to get on the movie channel. I thought I'd save myself $10/month. And then I also recently noticed that my cable company quietly increased rates!!! I think I wanted to see Meadowlands.

But...ew! Curb Your Enthusiasm! What were you thinking? ;-)

I saw the ads for Reaper and they never really drew me. The only time I ever buy TV Week is in the fall when they talk about the new shows. I left The Big Bang THeory off my to-watch list because it did get poor reviews. BWAHAHA
I was a little relieved when BB was over...so I could have more room for other shows!!

I was curious about "Gossip Girl". Still haven't managed to find the time to dig out and set up mom's old VCR. Maybe in the middle of October I'll have a few spare minutes.

And damned it! I'm missing yet *another* season of Top Model!

I find Gossip Girl neat in that the narrator is narrating as if she was writing a gossip column for a blog. What I find disturbing is that the main characters are in high school but they live lives of rich adults and they talk like them, too!

You haven't missed much of Top Model yet. The first episode is always lame and they're just chosen the 13 finalists. It only gets good after the makeovers!

I can't wait for Smallville tonight! (Collin and I are big fans!) I also enjoy CSI:Miami and Criminal Minds (good season opener last night!)

I've been watching Smallville from the beginning!! I am almost wishing it would hurry up and come to an end so I have one less show to watch. BWAHAHA
I used to watch Criminal Minds, too...I found the show good yet depressing. And I couldn't get into the season opener last night. Maybe it's because I was on the phone and also eating dinner. I am sad to say I am cutting out Criminal Minds out of my life!
I never got into the CSI shows either.

Hey, I happen to find Curb Your Enthusiasm to be funny. Flight Of The Conchords is a hoot. Meadowlands was rather odd. But Dexter is really the best cable show.

What's that dude's name? Larry something? It's him that makes me dislike Curb Your Enthusiasm...needless to say, I was not a big fan of Seinfeld either ;-)

Larry David. I didn't watch much Seinfeld, and just started watching Curb Your Enthusiasm. He's just so immature and such a jerk that I find it funny.
