So easy!
10.04.07 (9:45 am)   [edit]

I forced myself out of bed this morning to get to the gym. I hadn't been since I got sick, almost 2 weeks ago. It was tough!! And it was so tempting to get more sleep instead of heading out at dark-thirty. But at least I got to nap on the bus. I hope I wasn't leaning too much on the guy beside me. I like my window seats but I rarely get one these days. However, the buses don't see as busy as they were when school was first in session.

Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend. I am thankful that it's a long weekend! I'm all booked up with a birthday party, lunches, and dinners. I'm pleased :D And I will have time to catch up on my TV shows :D By then I could have about 14 hours to whiz through?? BWAHAHAA

I hope my UPS package comes soon, and I hope it's my credit card. When I finally got home to check my mailbox, I was quite disappointed that my credit card hadn't arrived yet. At least the upcoming bill will be small. (That doesn't mean I haven't been using my other credit cards though!)

I need to pick up a new set of dryer balls. I feel so gypped. One of them exploded during the last use! I don't know that could have happened.

And I am kicking myself a little that I wasn't able to explore more of the food at the Pike Place market when I was there. When I go back (I'm hoping to take a trip there with Mr. Nick next month), I will have to go to the French restaurant, the crepe place, the doughnut place, and the piroshky place! I wish there was time to go to Portland though. Hmm. Maybe there is...

And digital cameras...I was really tempted by the Canon SD900...but now I am also consider the SD850. Even though the 850's is 8.0 megapixels (as opposed to the 900's 10 megapixels), it has 4x optical zoom instead of 3x optical zoom. I rarely use digital zoom, but more megapixels would be nice for the rare occasion I like getting my prints blown up.

Really, no, more pixels won't give you anything. Go with a better lens. At 8.0 you'd need to blow up a pic to the size of a wall in order to see a difference with 10.0...and i'm guessing you don't have alot of wall sized photo's in your house. No, what u want is the better lens (which isn't necessarily dictated by the longer digital zoom) to give you better pics. At 2.0 megapixels, more is better for you. At 8.0, more is better for the sales guy.

You were leaning on a guy on the bus after whining about a woman doing the same to you a couple weeks ago? The nerve! heh

So what do Canadians have for Thanksgiving? Turkey and dressing? heh

And ummmm, what the heck is a dryer ball?
Geez am I sheltered or WHAT? lol

Apparently, Canadians are celebrating the harvest when it's Thanksgiving, but like American Thanksgiving, we do the turkey thing! Turkey, stuffing, the usual :) But I never really celebrated Thanksgiving growing up. Thanksgiving isn't a Chinese holiday!

As for dryer balls...you can buy a pair of these spikey looking things. I think they're made of plastic or silicone or something. But you use them instead of dryer sheets. They are supposed to cut down on drying time. I only like using them because my clothes don't get static-y, and they don't get that film that the dryer sheets give off!

OK, I thought that might be what the dryer balls were for, I've seen something similar advertised somewhere. I think I would like that because I really don't like the heavy perfume smell of fabric softeners, I like some smell just not the overpowering stuff, ya know?

Very cool that Canadians have turkey too! In fact it makes me excited about next month, well kind of excited, I'll be the one hosting and that's a LOT of cooking! lol In fact I never eat on Thanksgiving Day, I'm normally too exhausted and just sick of looking at the food, lol.

I have only one blown up photo above my mantle...That photo was taken with my current camera. It was okay. I don't know much about lenses! Right now, it's more like choosing a Canon!

One day I will roast a turkey. I really want to try brining! And now I have this big Le Creuset dutch oven that i might as well do something with it. I got a set of lifters that could pass for gardening tools, too!

The American Linens 'n' Things should carry dryer balls. I don't mind the smell of some dryer sheets, but I'd rather not be using all the chemicals. THe film that is on your clothes and towels as a result of the dryer sheets makes your clothes more flammable, too!

I just sent an email to the people who made my dryer balls to see if they will replace my exploded one. MWUAHHAA

I got dragged to an exercise class on tuesday by a girl at work, the first 15 minutes were virtually non-stop squats, I'm still walking like John Wayne. Guys are just not used to doing squats!

I've never tried a brine myself, watched Martha Stewart do one on TV years ago, just WAY too much work involved for me, lol. Give me a bird, a Reynolds Brown-N-Bag(revolutionary product I tell ya) and a nice slow oven!

This is so freaky, but tonight after a family outing for Chinese we stopped back by Walgreens to pick up a few things--as I was standing in line to pay I look beside me and there's this rack of 'As Seen on TV' items and I swear to God, second shelf from the bottom, there were a package of DRYER BALLS!!! LMAO I burst out laughing and of course thinking of you...these were light blue ones and I started to get some but I'd only brought a 20 in and I had several items, a prescription and the latest People magazine--so I had just about spent the money and having a belly full of sesame chicken I didn't relish the idea of going back to the parking lot for more money, lol. But atleast now I KNOW where I can get some! heh

Isn't brining pretty much just soaking a bird in salt water before throwing it in the oven?? What is this Brown-N-Bag you speak of??

BWAHAHA do you think you will try out the dryer balls?

Thank you! You could probably find the dryer balls at Linens 'n' things or As Seen on TV :)
