Apples, apples, apples!
10.14.07 (1:08 pm)   [edit]

Every year, one of our universities hosts an Apple Festival. Yesterday was my first time going, and it was crazy busy!

You can buy all sorts of apples (and they're not your usual supermarket variety), and Mr. Nick and I picked up about 20 and  a half pounds of apples! I wanted more! These should last us for quite some time. BWAHAHHAA

At the festival, you could sample apples. Who knew there were so many varieties. But my question, where can you normally buy these exotic varieties?! You could also buy apple pie (we were going to have apple pie a la mode yesterday but we were too full from dinner. D'oh), apple juice, and candied apples. What you could do at the festival wasn't a lot, but it was sure neat seeing all those apples!

The whole bottom shelf of my fridge is packed with apples. When I get a cooler, they're going on the balcony!

Ooooh I love stuff like this! There's a Fall Craft Fair here and one of the local apple farms sells those hot apple dumplings but my fav is the raw apples with caramel dip!

Sounds like you guys had a great time :)

I've seen Pink Lady apples, but I don't think I saw any there. Right now, I am really liking Ambrosia apples!! They're so juicy and sweet!

Next year, we'll definitely know to get there earlier. Actually, we had planned on getting there early, but I got carried away grocery shopping beforehand. ooops.

I love craft fairs!! I think I just like fairs in general -- especially fair food!

They have lots of different "apple crafts" and apple treats, but their main thing is the Apple Butter - they cook it in a HUGE cauldren in the middle of the street ( yep - they close main street down and have it there) - it's wonderful!
- I tried to send you a link to their webpage via my comment, but it won't let me...I'l have to try to send it to you via - tmail instead ;)
