I saw a commercial on TV for Thrive gum, which is nicotine gum. However, when you first see the commercial, you have no idea what it's for. You just see black and white images of this really gorgeous woman smoking and doing sexy things...sitting around...riding a motorcycle. So obviously, this woman is very exciting and a smoker. She makes smoking look very sexy. So when in the world would you want to stop smoking??! Aren't ads supposed to make you want to be like the people in them? |

Kind of like the cigarette commercials in the 60s and 70s where 'smoking was portrayed as cool'--of course everyone had cocktails in the evening too. Guess back then smoking and drinking were cool! heh

This nicotine gum still makes smoking look cool! I saw the commercial again this morning at the gym! The lit cigarette is the only thing in colour in the commercial!

Unfortunately, I think the commercial would just make people want to smoke rather than buy the gum!
