Christmas!
10.25.07 (7:51 am)   [edit]

I'm on a mailing list for a particular site that sells products that would be interesting to geeks, and I think I have found what I want to get Mr. Nick for Christmas! I just hope it's not too costly to ship to Canada.

At the same time, I feel so broke right now. It doesn't help that I keep spending money on going out. It's been an expensive couple of months for me with massages, concert tickets, movie tickets, hotel bookings...seasonal events. I know I'm not supposed to keep track, but I feel like I've been paying a lot for the stuff that Mr. Nick and I do lately. I brought it up to him last night, and now I feel all guilty, as if I was accusing him of not paying for anything!

But he does. He tends to pay more often for the more casual things we do, and I pay for the pricier "special" events.

I just have to come right out and force Collin to pay sometimes! I think he knows that I usually step up and pay for things I really want for myself anyways... but it's not fair for one person to feel that they are out more money then the other.

I guess the difference for me, is that Collin and I rarely do the pricier "special" events. SAD :(

My man does pay, but if it's something that I suggest doing, I end up paying. I would have a hard time asking him to pay for something that I want to do...

*L* Well, it's not like I'm his sugar momma, but if I didn't buy tickets to things I wanted to do, we'd end up not doing them. And I'd have a hard time asking him to pay at the same time!

I'd have such a hard time telling Mr. Nick to pay! I even have a hard time asking people for money they owe me.
Why don't you do "special" events? If I didn't suggest them, I probably wouldn't be doing them either.

*L* He would step up to the plate if he had that kind of cash on him. Sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't. We love living in a cashless society!

I had a guy do that to me on a date...but it wasn't even really a date. He said, "oh, I left my wallet at home."

Rosie, maybe you need to just plan one or two special things you want to do a month and do some smaller cheaper or free stuff in between.

Yes, that is a good idea! I've never had to budget before, and I am still finding it a challenge to follow one *L*

I know what you mean about inviting people to go places, etc. I always think I should pay if I ask someone to go with me.

You need massages. You have a sucky job. There must be some way to balance the two.
