But call your Dad and tell him what happened, it could just be a mistake either with him or his bank and it might be easy to clear up. I sure hope so! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.19.07 (11:43 am) Reply to: FinalyFree I sent my dad an e-mail. I haven't been successful reaching him in the past with the number he gave me. He's been out of the country for about a month now. Hopefully, he can figure things out for me soon. The cheque was drawn from his line of credit from a bank account of his that I have no access to. I was counting on having that money around by Wednesday :-/ posted by: katz (reply) post date: 11.19.07 (1:32 pm) oh deario that's not good at all. Hopefully things get straightened out soon. I can't believe the costs to repair those condos is soo much for each person. Have you heard if there is going to be a lawsuit or not? posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.19.07 (1:58 pm) Reply to: katz I hope I can get in touch with my dad soon, and he can sort out his banking issues!? Or at least tell me if he changed his mind about giving me the money. I already had to pay $18K, which resulted in me remortgaging my home! There is a lawsuit going on, but these things always take so long. And for a while, negotiations were stalled because of our updated costs. Ugh! posted by: doeeyed (reply) post date: 11.19.07 (3:02 pm) Major Bummer! This is definetly not a good time of year to have such a large bill. I wish you much luck w/ getting the check issue solved. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.19.07 (4:22 pm) Reply to: doeeyed Thanks, I know! I was already mad about having to pay the bill in the first place! posted by: Fitgirl (reply) post date: 11.20.07 (8:14 am) My sis has a leaky condo too... they are such a pain in the ass. Sounds like your assesment is way less then hers. I'm sure you'll get it all figured out! But I'd be pretty concerned about the "returned cheque" thing myself... seems weird! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.20.07 (12:48 pm) Reply to: Fitgirl I already paid $18K and now another $6.5K. I hope I can recover some costs soon! ALso, what I paid was on the lower end compared to everyone else since the cost was calculated by square footage. Some people have to pay twice as much as I do! posted by: FinalyFree (reply) post date: 11.20.07 (6:54 pm) Reply to: rosietulips Geez I do hope you can get things figured out and I hope you don't have to count on that line of credit. Debt sucks ass. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.21.07 (7:50 am) Reply to: FinalyFree Oh, I am sure I will be counting on my line of credit! Hopefully, my dad can get back to me soon. In a perfect situation, I'd be transferring the money out of my dad's bank account that I have access to and then putting it back in with money from my mom. And then my dad can re-give me the money (so I can pay back my mom)!! |
