I'm sure she'll understand why you want OUT too! (Unless she left over a few months ago, then I might not call her!) I thought you already QUIT this hell job??? Man, I'm SO confused! I wouldGive your notice before you leave... Who wants to come back to that place after your long absence just to quit? I wouldn't! But I do realize you want to do the right thing too!!! Hmmmm.... posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 02.22.08 (2:39 pm) Reply to: Fitgirl This HR woman left like a month after I started! She's been with a new company for 7 months now. I hadn't quit my job yet. BWAHAHA I was going to wait a bit. I am definitely going to give my notice before I leave town, but I don't know what I should say is my last day of employment. I don't want to miss out on as much pay as possible. Do I give 5 weeks notice?! posted by: Barnabus1 (reply) post date: 02.22.08 (3:33 pm) It's only fair to give them notice!!! because not doing so will give you a bad history, that can catch up with you later!! Also once you have left the job, don't speak against them!! especially in your new job, or they will start thinking that you are vindictive, and not trustworthy!! Play it fair and above board, and you win in the long run!!! posted by: PirateGirl (reply) post date: 02.22.08 (3:44 pm) 2 weeks notice is generally what is acceptable. - not sure how that would play out with your time off though. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 02.22.08 (3:48 pm) Reply to: Barnabus1 Of course I will give them notice! My challenge is figuring out when. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 02.22.08 (3:49 pm) Reply to: PirateGirl I was trying not to include my time off with my notice, but that may actually happen. Eek! posted by: PirateGirl (reply) post date: 02.22.08 (4:39 pm) Reply to: rosietulips ARRG! - I hope not! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 02.22.08 (4:50 pm) Reply to: PirateGirl Ugh, I can either quit early and be unpaid for 3 weeks (ew!) or I can quit when I come back from my leave, and start my next job later. I am picking the lesser of two evils, really! posted by: PirateGirl (reply) post date: 02.22.08 (5:19 pm) Reply to: rosietulips Hmmm - yeah, might be good to look into the second idea - see if it's an option. ;) posted by: mimi (reply) post date: 02.22.08 (5:41 pm) wait till you get back...xoxox posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 02.24.08 (7:37 am) Reply to: mimi Thanks for the advice :) I am starting to think it would be best to give my notice after I got back, just to protect myself. |
