posted by: FinalyFree (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (10:47 am) My daughter LOVED them and she is so wanting to see them in concert. The bad part is she was just a 'little' girl when they were so popular, I mean like 4 or 5. And trust me she didn't love 'em because Mom was always listening to "Hangin Tough" or anything like that, I think she just happen to see them on MTV--hmmm maybe that MTV IS a bad thing. heh. Good luck with the tickets :) posted by: PirateGirl (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (11:05 am) Maybe the password is lip-sycing??? lol! Good luck getting the tickets! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (11:10 am) Reply to: FinalyFree BWAHAHAA Maybe you can finally take your daughter to see New Kids! I never had any of their T-shirts or pillow cases...just one button and one VSH "Hangin' Tough" tape. I still have my old ticket stub, though!! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (11:11 am) Reply to: PirateGirl Thanks! After the Madonna fiasco, I am going to need all the luck I can get! posted by: emerging (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (11:51 am) Reply to: FinalyFree It's OK to admit you were a fan - we won't judge you too harshly ;) (they never wormed their way into my heart either - who can respect a guy who calls himself Marky Mark?? And now look at him....) posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (11:52 am) Reply to: emerging Marky Mark declined to be in the New Kids. His older brother, Donnie was in the band, though. Donnie was never my favourite...EVER! posted by: bawdy (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (12:38 pm) The Backstreet Boys are coming here. Uggh. Sheryl Crow too. We've also recently had Mellencamp, Barenaked Ladies, INXS, Motley Crue and others that never would have been caught dead here before. posted by: FinalyFree (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (12:49 pm) Reply to: emerging OK I won't lie, I thought Marky Mark was scorching HOT long before he graced the Calvin billboards, lol. posted by: FinalyFree (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (12:52 pm) Reply to: rosietulips Oh she's already started on me about taking her, to which I quickly remind her of the permanent hearing loss I sustained at The Backstreet Boys concert I treated her to when she was 12 or 13!! lol And this from a woman who attended many-a-deafening-concerts in her time, KISS, Foreigner, Foghat, Aerosmith, G&R, (all in the 80s) just to name a few and not one time did I encounter the decibel levels I did at the BSB event. There's truly something to be said about being in an arena with 15-20,000 screaming young girls! It's dangerous folks, lol. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (2:09 pm) Reply to: FinalyFree You saw BSB?? BWAHAHAA Did you bring earplugs? Ooh, maybe I should do that for all future concerts. The screaming is the worst part. I'm hoping the now 30-somethings that should be going to see New Kids won't be screaming all night long! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (2:10 pm) Reply to: bawdy Are you a concergoer now? Beck is also coming to town! He puts on a good show, but I don't know a lot of his music. posted by: katz (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (3:32 pm) haha i can't believe New kids on the block are going to try and make a come back after 20 years. I was really not a fan the first time around. I think it is funny that their music is being played on the radio more often now haha. posted by: themarina (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (3:36 pm) It was announced yesterday on JackFM. I'm a Jackaholic (or however you spell it) member. If I get a password, I'll share. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (3:40 pm) Reply to: katz You know, that is so true! I hear their songs on the radio, STILL! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.29.08 (3:40 pm) Reply to: themarina That is really weird that they announced it on JackFM! BWAHAHHAA Yes, please share if you get a password! THanks!!! posted by: bawdy (reply) post date: 05.30.08 (12:53 pm) Reply to: rosietulips The last one I saw was April Wine and Kim Mitchell several years ago. I would have loved to have seen Mellencamp, but it was sold out in no time. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 05.30.08 (6:27 pm) Reply to: bawdy Seriously?? Mellencamp sold out in no time?? I wish he was still "Cougar". posted by: bawdy (reply) post date: 05.31.08 (12:04 pm) Reply to: rosietulips Our arena only holds 4-6 thousand. Don't you like him? posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 06.02.08 (10:27 am) Reply to: bawdy Oooh, that means you get rather intimate concerts! I think I only know of his Mellencamp's songs?!?? posted by: bawdy (reply) post date: 06.02.08 (12:15 pm) That's the benefit of smaller venues, but then again, they can be too small to attract major acts. Mellencamp has an awesome catalogue of hit songs. |
