That 19 cents I was supposed to get back from my gym isn't in my hot little hands yet. Never mind that I've been doing boot camp instead of going to the gym. But when I asked the receptionist about my money, she accessed my account, and found the note. She obviously had not heard anything about refunds being given. She told me couldn't give me my money because only the manager can give refunds. I don't think my gym was very prepared in giving money back. The staff obviously wasn't informed. So now I have to go in at a time when the manager is in? Just give me 19 cents cash and leave a note. Geesh.

And yesterday, at the supermarket, the guy shortchanged me 5 cents. I felt dumb for asking for my nickel, but hey...it's the principle. And I was expecting him to assume the dime I gave him was a nickel. My total came $xx.07, so I gave $xx.12. Pay attention!

And then at Costco...I didn't get my full discount. I have lost out on a dollar. I bought some contact lens solution, and they didn't give me my discount at the till. I paid full price, so I was given a refund of the coupon amount. I was only given a refund of the coupon amount. Tax was not included. I paid full tax on my solution, but when I got my refund, I wasn't given back the tax I paid!

All these little amounts add up...it's like the latte factor, but *I'm* not the one who's deciding to "splurge" on amounts.

I don't give a second thought about spending money or saving small amounts.

I am always aware of where my money is going...not that it helps me stop spending...

For me, it's never so much about the amount but, as you say, the principle of the thing!

Girl I am feeling you on watching every penny. I've been off work for so long now since my brain surgery. I am tempted to take my two ply toilet paper and make it one ply. Hell it costs a fortune to wipe your ass these days! :)

Ummm by the way, the coupon issue, they were right. You do have to pay the tax on the full price and then the coupon is deducted. I know this from working at many convenience stores, Wal-Mart, and selling Mary Kay.

Long time no see girlie! I've been married almost a year now. How are things in your world?

19 cents here, nickel there, dime or two found in the bottom of the couch ~ it all adds up!

And, the principal of the matter, for sure!

Married life is awesome! It has it's ups and downs, but in the end I go to sleep every night knowing that the naked man sleeping beside me loves me as much as I love him. You can't ask for anything more! Brain surgery was April 2nd. They finally diagnosed me with the disease I swore I had back in nursing school, Cushing's Disease. They removed a tumor from my pituitary gland in order to try and cure me. I'm currently weaning myself on steroids in order to find out if I am cured. It's going to be a while! I gained all the weight back and some friends because of the disease and am currently in the process of losing. I haven't started a formal diet, yet, but will be doing lowcarb again in the near future. I am so glad I found your blog girl! You seem to be getting on quite well. :)

I still can't believe you had *brain* surgery! Is being on steroids sucky for you? My boyfriend is on them a lot for his Crohn's Disease. 'roids just sound so unpleasant. Lots of luck to you in your recovery. I'm glad you have support!! Will you be blogging again?? :-)
