06.27.08 (10:57 am)   [edit]

I'm glad it's Friday. It's been a hectic week. I don't have much going on this weekend which I am thankful for. I should vacuum though. My home is very hairy. And every several months, I have to yank and cut all the hair out that's stuck in my vacuum rollers.

I might go and splurge on a steam mop. With all the cooking I do, I end up with a really dirty kitchen floor. I use those Wet Swiffers which is okay but not very effective on anything crusted on. I have a brush, but I don't really want to be on my hands and knees scrubbing away. So...a steam mop might be the answer to my cleaning! But I have no space to store it...

Mr. Nick comes home this weekend. It will be nice to see him again, but I have enjoyed my freedom -- the freedom to do what I want without having to work around scheduling him in. I have missed him, but out of sight out of mind has always applied to me. While he's been away, he's called quite a few times, and I appreciate the calls. But with the time difference, the calls haven't come at a convenient time. I hate having personal conversations in public, but he's been calling me while I'm going to work on the bus. (Not to mention, I only get 200 daytime minutes a month on my cell phone). I wouldn't mind a short conversation, but he's really looking to shoot the breeze. Or he's called while I'm at work. I share an office and there is no privacy for having long personal conversations. The only time I only like having long conversations is when I'm at home after dinner and before I go to bed.

And boot camp is done! Hurrah! No more of that crap. We got measured today. I don't think my body has changed. I was extremely bloated for the first set of measurements, so it appears that I've dropped inches. Where I didn't drop inches, I got bigger! I might re-do the pushups and sit-ups on my own since I think I missed testing day. But I can pretty much guarantee that my count would be worse. I have lost strength doing cardio core boot camp!

Phone sex is best done in private!

I can't believe I still have nearly 4 hours left in the office. I want to be out and about NOW!

The steam mop is awesome...we have a Hoover one. The problem is that it's hidden in a back closet and I don't often feel like pulling it out...but does a great job.

I think the damp/spray swiffer leaves a film on the floor and I don't like that so I only used it one time ~ definitely think the steam mop would be an improvement!

It's Monday and I am recharged! It's also very quiet in the office today since most people took it off. We get tomorrow off for Canada Day!

I checked out Linens 'n' Things for the steam mops, and now I am going to do some research! They had a Bissel and one that is usually shown on TV.

I don't like the film that the Wet Swiffer leaves behind either! But I have one box or two of the refills left to use up BWAHAHA I always thought I would use those for quick maintenance.

Hi Rosie.....it was so nice to see that you stopped by my blog....your one of my favorite bloggers...you have been on my favorites list, since I started blogging.....I love to read about your in's and out's of life, and of course who your guy is at the present time.....LOL .....I have a wet swiffer and a dry one, but I guess you have to use them to do any good.....you talk about a hairy house, in one week the hair from my Maxie and my sons dog Buddy, I decided to call the little fur balls that gather under my table by name... hey I wished you lived by me, because I would introduce you to my son....he will be 35 this July and has never been married.....but he went with a girl for 15 years, and he bought her a ring, and she wore it for a month and gave it back.....yuck.....well, I'm going to check out what I missed in your life from you recent posts.....I might not comment, this one is pretty long, but know I'm thinking of you.... your crazy old blogging friend, judy

Glad you had a good weekend! - mine was pretty good but the weekends and weekdays are starting to blurr together during the summer, and we're always busy it seems. Got stuff going on this week so I tried to take it slower this past weekend too ;)

I had a Shark -- three of them - all arrived broken so I could not tell you how they worked since they were broken in the first place. I think you can also use a small wet/dry vac to do the same sort of job.

Does this mean you've given up on steam mops?

For now. I might rent one.
I might even try the wet/dry vac my husband has.

You can rent mops?? I was reading some reviews and read that the H2O mop that you see on TV is not very good, but a Bissel one is not bad! I think you can buy one of those for less than $100. Linens 'n' Things carries them and always has those 20% off coupons!

I think that you can rent them at rental centers, just like a rug cleaner. They are industrial strenght so they will pick up more and clean better than a store bought one. I don't have a place to put my vacuum cleaner in my house, it is always out reminding me to vacuum something. If I got a steam cleaner, I don't know where I would put it.
