Can I do it?
07.02.08 (4:14 pm)   [edit]

I met with a personal trainer today for a consultation. She also does meal planning, and she starts off her clients with kind of a detox diet. Certain foods are eliminated and the foods you do eat must be organic.

The diet part isn't all that problematic for me. The problem is that I am going to be away on two separate weekends and trying to stick to a certain diet is hard when 1. I may not get to choose what I eat and 2. I don't want to limit what I eat at special occasions.

The trainer seemed okay, but given that she didn't know me or my background, I didn't like the assumptions she had of me. I probably gave her the impression that I was really against the diet she was going to prescribe for me. Oh well.

Pshshshshhhhhhhh! Go for it and eat what you want on those weekends - it's only two weekends and you'll be eating what she says in the meantime ;)

I think I agree with PirateGirl ~ and you might not find it too difficult when you are away either ~ give it your best shot. Or does she want 100% committment?

She is not the only trainer in town, if you don't think that you can do it, plus have you seen the price of organic food versus regular lately?

I thought about doing that, but I think I may just start the program two weeks later. At least I know I don't have any interruptions coming up...at least not 6 days' worth :-D

I think she'd want 100% commitment, and so would I. Normally I would just eat whatever for the special occasions, but this month long detox diet is also an elimination of sugar, wheat, gluten, etc. After a couple of weeks, we start re-introducing those foods into my diet, and I'd like to know what effects they have on me, if any!

I know! Organic food is so expensive! But I was thinking this is only one month out of my life. She also guarantees your money back if you're not satisfied with your results.

I can understand that aspect. If you can postpone it for a bit then give it 100% would be best. Good luck!
I know I'd have a hard time with those eliminations, but then I'm old and set in my ways. Again, Good Luck!

There has to be room for compromise from the plan if the vacation calls for it. You're paying her, so you call the shots. She can only suggest what you should do to maximize results.

Oooh, I don't think those eliminations are going to be easy! I like my sweets :)

The trainer seems to think that if I really want to stick to a food plan while I'm on vacation, I can. And it's true. But why would I want to?? While my friends eat my penis cake, I will eat an apple?? I don't think so!

Yes. You will eat an apple. And like it! Or you will be spanked!

Apples are one of the few fruits on the list that I can eat! I can also eat lemons. LEMONS!! Spanking isn't part of the training plan, though.

I bet twenty five spanks per pound lost is all the incentive you'd need to get in top shape!

I only eat oranges and bananas, so you can go suck on all the lemons you want!

That's not a very varied diet! You need some more fibrous fruit!

Hmm...a personal trainer who's not listening to you? Not good. Maybe you could put the detox off a bit?

I am trying my best to go on the detox the same time my trainer and I start training, but I guess we will see how it goes!
