07.24.08 (9:38 am)   [edit]

Last night, we went and checked out the fireworks. It was show with a Godzilla theme...whatever that means. I don't know the story of Godzilla, and the music wasn't overly dramatic which made the show a bit boring for me.

But what ruined the show for me was a group of women sitting next to me, especially the one rightnexttome. They showed up late with their coffees and stinky cheap perfume and sat down. The last one to arrive almost sat on top of me when sitting down. Her jacket kept touching me. She was sitting close enough to be a friend. If we both sat with our legs crossed, our thighs would have been on top of each other.

So there was music to go with the show, but I could no longer hear it because this woman talked through the WHOLE show. ``Wow, look at that! Wow! That is beautiful! Wow! Wow! Wow! That is sooooo big! Wow, those are two circles!`` I mean seriously, woman...the fireworks are in the sky and everyone can see them...we don`t need the play-by-play. She had a comment after every single blast...no exaggeration.

And then she lit up her cigarette when the show was two thirds over...She wasn`t really smoking it and just kept it lit and stinking up the area. And the breeze was blowing her cigarette smoke towards me. UGH!

Thanks for ruining my experience, bitch!

And it's stories like this that have kept me away from the fireworks all these years. I've never seen them "live" and don't plan to. I can't deal with all the people!

Fireworks..ooh! aah!

Damn smokers can be so inconsiderate. People who never shut up can be so annoying. Couldn't you move away from her, or was it too crowded?

Sorry she had to ruin it for you. I hate it when I have to be crowded into areas with people I do not know.

I like my own space as in

I'm lucky...I go to the 8th florr of our apartment bldg, remove the screen, andf about 4 or 5 others who are smart enough to know this, pull up chairs, and it's right before our eyes!! We used to drive to a hill overlooking the area where they are to be shot!! Beats traffic!!

The people can *really* be a pain. It's only good if you live really close to somewhere where you can view them. And it's good to not sit in an area where there are a lot of people walking!

THat's the thing! It wasn't so crowded that she had to sit rightnexttome!! It was kind of too late to move, and I thought she would have quieted down at some point. Next time we're going closer to the beach instead of sitting near the path!

We definitely picked the worst spot ever! I've never had a more horrible spot in all my years of going!

That really sucks that they had to sit rightnexttoyou! Especially smoking, which would have made me voice my frustrations at them. Stupid smokers.

A lot of places here are smoke-free, so I have gotten used to a smoke-free environment! I think the city will be proposing to ban smoking on beaches, too. That would be nice!

Yeah, the girls sat down after the show started. I would have left plenty of space between us, otherwise. Hopefully it will be better next week!
