Going back in time
07.29.08 (12:00 pm)   [edit]

This morning I had an email from The Eater in my Inbox -- at least that's the nickname I think I gave him. I've looked back on old blog posts during a time when I was dating a lot, and every guy had a nickname. I don't remember a lot of these people but I sure picked some good names! (Who was Mr. Lips?)

I do remember The Eater even if that wasn't his name because he was kind of annoying. And I really wanted to like him, too, but things just didn't click for me.

Last night was a last minute work dinner, and I went in my glasses, greasy hair, cargo pants and all. I kind of forgot we had some important poeple coming in from some of our other offices.

The weekend was T's birthday. She had two kids now: 22 months and 5 months. Seeing her so happy with kids almost makes me feel more comfortable with the thought of having kids. (I really don't want to be pregnant or give birth...BWAHAHA) But her eldest is an absolute terror...watching him is a good form of birth control.

You know, I'd really like to have a family of my own. I find myself thinking about these things more often lately. I'm almost scared to admit. Actually, I am.

I think that fear/admission is common. I occasionally have the same thoughts and a few minutes later, they're gone. I figure that when they start popping up more often and lasting longer, the time will be ripe for family talk.

Sometimes I test Mr. Nick with comments, but I often don't get the response I want to hear!

Well hon, most likely you're gonna have to be preggers and deliver in order to have kids. lol. But trust me THOSE are the easy things where kids are concerned :)

I know I complain alot about my children, but I think it's because they're so many of them, lol. Honestly I can't imagine life without them :)

There is always adoption and surrogacy!!!
Mr. Nick always said he wanted kids, and then this weekend he surprised me by saying he would be okay not having kids?? Sometimes I wonder if he says things based on what he thinks I want...

You will just love kids once you have them and of course yours will be little angels.

Well it was good to get away, but it rained nearly the whole time! lol
I'd never been to Myrtle Beach, it was nice but OH so crowded--now I remember why we never vacation during peak seasons, lol.

I often wonder about people who just don't 'want' children--not that there's anything wrong with that, but I guess I have only encountered people who are unable to have them and want them so desperately. For me I never really thought about it until I missed that first period, lol.

Now you'll know for your next vacation!
I always say that I'd be fine if I ended up with no kids, but that's only because I have a choice. I'd probably feel differently if I wasn't able to have them! But at this time, I want a husband first!

Aside from the fun of making up nicknames, I'm kind of glad that I don't have opportunities to think up nicknames now.
