Doing the day you don't dare take over a half or prepare to go back to bed. rosie my husband can't even take a half, it will knock him out for two days, he is very sensitive to meds. posted by: scubadiva (reply) post date: 04.25.09 (11:39 am) I've been taking a double-dose of benedryl every night to knock me out - no ambien dialing on benedryl. I wonder if I am still knocked out when I wake up in the mornings! I looked for some non-drowsy stuff but never found it. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 04.27.09 (9:08 am) Reply to: scubadiva Goodness, how long have you been using Benedryl as a sleep aid?? I think the pharmacist told me it had alcohol in it, so it sounds totally plausible to be hooked on it! But then at least you wouldn't really be endangering anyone else since you'd be knocked out.
