posted by: PirateGirl (reply) post date: 06.29.09 (6:07 pm) remember it's a promice SHE made - not YOU! - If she brings it up again just repeat that you only have the three and no more - sorry - and maybe SHE could look into a place that ofers more boxes - *around here you can sometimes get free boxes from supermarkets and the like. posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 06.30.09 (9:21 am) Reply to: PirateGirl Geez, this morning I told my mom I had 5 boxes to give her, which is 2 more than I originally said, and she still said "that's it??" I I told her to go buy some more, then. We can get free boxes from supermarkets as well! But she wanted my boxes. I guess it's true I won't be needing them for a while, but at some point, I am sure I will need boxes when I move again. She actually took me seriously when I said I was never going to move again. posted by: auntconi (reply) post date: 06.30.09 (12:04 pm) What a shame! And all this from 'moving boxes' ~ and it is not your responsibility to provide them, nor is it your mother's ~ why can't she just be thankful for what you are offering? I doubt that her friend would want all this 'discussion' over boxes for him to move! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 06.30.09 (12:10 pm) Reply to: auntconi My mom is not usually thankful for anything, especially if she asks for something. She feels it is her right to get what she wants. I guess that is a confident way of looking at things! But I guess she also didn't want to let down this friend, but oh welll...I scolded her again for making promises about my things that she assumed she could keep! posted by: bawdy (reply) post date: 06.30.09 (12:51 pm) She shouldn't have made such a promise without asking you first. I'm sure the guy will manage. posted by: PirateGirl (reply) post date: 06.30.09 (4:43 pm) Reply to: rosietulips LOL! - Oh well - what can you do? - I think you're handling it just fine - and you can only do what you can only do - Arrrr! ;) posted by: Raisha (reply) post date: 08.24.09 (5:12 am) my mom can't keep her promise to buy me a comic book posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 08.24.09 (1:58 pm) Reply to: Raisha Maybe she needs a reminder... |
