I told a joke to a friend because I thought it was funny. He thought it was inappropriate and gave me a lashing! This was the joke: Q:What did the left leg of the hooker say to the right one? A: Nothin...they never met. He said it was negative, and that sex workers are people, too. I agree that they are. There are lots of prostitutes who don't want to be on the street and are victims in many ways. But after thinking about this for a bit [I don't feel like writing an essay on women and poverty, etc. I did enough of that in university :-/], I think he was basing his thoughts on a certain group of sex workers. There are some sex workers out there who enjoy who choose the profession. I told him I wouldn't tell him any more hooker jokes. |

Well sadly that joke is very true and I am sorry that some people feel like they have to do that because in my eyes, they are better than that and I hope that one day they realize that because it isn't a safe profession.

I used to know a hooker (no, I wasn't a client) when I livèd in UK. She chose the work and treated it as a career. She is clean, safe and tells hooker based jokes all the time.
Some people are too quick to jump down the "PC" route to defend others who don't want/need defending. Was that me having a rant? Fancy!
