Can't deal
02.22.05 (1:02 pm)   [edit]
Not me...my friend who's recently started seeing someone. She knows full well that when she has a boyfriend, it's all about him in her life for a while (especially in the beginning). She knows she has this inexplicable inability to focus on anyone else.

I'm not sure how I feel about it even though I've seen it in action. I know she's still my friend and all, but she's not all there!! And I don't mean mentally like she's gone wacko; it's more like she's not there when I need her.

That reminds me...When I was leaving the supermarket Sunday night, I recognised a guy I went to high school with. I wasn't sure whether to say hi or not, so I just kept switching between making eye contact and smilling. His girlfriend probably thought I was wacko. And he probably did not recognise me

I think that is a big pet peeve of mine. People who dump their friends as soon as they have a romantic relationship. It is a forgivable and all but still really annoying.

I'm high on love at the moment, and I love my friends more. All I want to do is hug them and let my happiness spill into thier lives, hehe...

I don't mean to speak ill of your friend, but falling in love shouldn't mean loosing oneself or forgetting oneself either.

You're her friend right. If she means that much and you value her friendship, talk to her. Maybe she needs someone to help her find her footing on the terestial planes, hehe... :-)

I agree...I'm sure she'll return a little once she gets into a routine with her man. But right now it's all about him!!

Hey, congrats on being in love...it *is* a great feeling. But as for my friend, she already warned me she'd be like that, being enveloped by her new guy right now. If I really needed her, I am sure she would be there for me.
