Hooah!
04.08.05 (8:48 am)   [edit]
I had a workout with weights yesterday...It was good!! But I have to remember to not wear tight cotton shirts while working out and to lay off the meat products. I had forgotten about the meat thing...makes me feel heavy. My biceps are achy today.

I talked to Chris, my ex, last night. It was kind of weird because I didn't really have anything to say to him and we hadn't talked in a long time. Maybe he's grown up a little. I wanted to laugh when he told me he wants a girl who can keep up with him. When I dated him, he was not very active, but now he's training for a triathlon.

Talking to him didn't bring back a flood of memories. Things for him are definitely different. He remembers me being more geeky; he even asked me if I was still into computer programming. Back in the day I was *really* into computer programmers. Now, I've branched out to just liking techies.

Anyway, I guess we're going to have some dinner first on Saturday and then head to the concert. This means I'm definitely not meeting up my friends beforehand! I'll touch base with him on Saturday.

Something is not sitting right after having spoken to him. Maybe it's because I don't know what to expect.

I also have to write back to James. He gave me the ol' "are you seeing anyone right now?" :?

Oh yeah...I did some shopping after work yesterday. I bought so much makeup at Stila that they gave me a free gift

I think there is only one of my ex's, that if our paths crossed, there wouldn't be any tension or feelings for one another.

I'm slowly getting back into the gym thing, tons of things got in the way and I fell back on old habits.
Take care!

I usually cut off all contact with exes...I never see the point! But with Chris, I was desperate to find someone to take a concert ticket off my hands. And with James, I ignored 6 months of his emails. I guess persistance pays off!!

Where are you from originally??

That's really cool! My parents liked living in a new house every 5 years or so. I have no idea how they did it. Moving licks. I was born and raised in Richmond.

Hey! Techies are the shiz baby! My personal feeling that that every hot blooded Canadian woman should hook up with all the techies they can lay there hands on.

Of course, I may be a wee bit biased but I don't think so ...

I talk with several of my ex's on a semi regular basis. I can undeerstand that sometimes this is not possible or desired.

I guess my own feeling is that when someone becomes such a huge part of your life I think it to be a bad thing to totally cut them out of it.

Of course, I have moved from where I grew upp in Edmonton to Toronto and I appreciate contact with my peeps from the old days.

My own personal history is precious to me.

As long as they're not nerdy techies, then that is okay :)

I don't what it is with me. After a breakup, I want the person out of my life. I guess I am just used to relationships ending, and when I don't see a future, the good times from the past will just stay in the past.

And it's easier for me to move on with no baggage. Not that I ever forget anyone.

(And booo....Toronto! BOOOO!!!)

Just kidding :) I like Van, I like Alberta, excepting the god awful weather, and I like TO too. Each place has its points, culturally and more, and they are all fantastically different.

I have spent quite a bit of time in all 3.

For being a techie though, I'd have to give TO the edge in the market. A lot of head offices here and a huge demand for know how, even through the whole meltdown thing I never had a lack of offers for work.

My 2.3 cents worth ....

Also, nerdy techies have a name: coders ;)

Well, okay...I give TO's food prices and abundance of food a point :) If it weren't for relatives there, I'd probably never go!

I never look at the job market over there; tech writing jobs have been okay here. But then again, I haven't looked since I finished school! I can't imagine living through a TO winter. Brrrr...Nipples that can cut glass? No, thanks!!

Coders...mmm...

I'm not sure I can get Urban Decay stuff here :-( But I do use Lancome's Lash Primer. Does that stuff even do anything? I am not sure.

The UD is available through Sephora.com which is a very cool place to be. The lingerie end is the primer, the galoshes waterproofs any mascara that you would want to waterproof.
